Where these figures come from

About these figures: the numbers below come from Pag-IBIG's official published sources: Pag-IBIG Fund | Membership (https://www.pagibigfund.gov.ph/member_membership.html, retrieved 2026-08-31); Pag-IBIG Fund | Regular Savings (https://www.pagibigfund.gov.ph/Membership_RegularSavings.html, retrieved 2026-08-31). Agencies change fees and rates without notice, so confirm with Pag-IBIG before you rely on them. Last verified: 2026-08-31.

Registering with Pag-IBIG is a single online session that produces a temporary number, followed by a wait of 2 to 3 working days for the permanent one. Almost everything that goes wrong later, from a rejected loan application to a duplicate record, traces back to what you type in step 3.

The registration steps

Pag-IBIG publishes these for the online route through Virtual Pag-IBIG.

Step What you do
1 Go to Virtual Pag-IBIG
2 Click Be A Member, then select Register
3 Enter your personal details: name, middle name, last name and birth date
4 Complete the required details for your online membership registration, then click Submit
5 Save your Registration Tracking Number (RTN) to verify your permanent MID Number after 2 to 3 working days

Step 3 carries Pag-IBIG’s own note, and it is the single most useful line on the page: make sure the personal details you enter match exactly the information on your birth certificate. Not the spelling on your company ID, not the one on your bank account. The birth certificate.

Getting that wrong is not fatal, but the fix is a branch visit and a Member’s Change of Information Form, which is covered below.

RTN, then MID: two different numbers

Number What it is When you get it
RTN, Registration Tracking Number A temporary reference issued the moment you submit Immediately on submission
MID Number, Membership ID Number Your permanent Pag-IBIG number Verifiable 2 to 3 working days after the RTN

To convert one into the other: go back to Virtual Pag-IBIG, click Be A Member, select Verify MID Number, and enter your RTN, last name and date of birth. Pag-IBIG’s own step ends with the line “You now have your permanent Pag-IBIG MID Number.”

If you lose the MID Number later, there are three published retrieval routes and they are covered in the Pag-IBIG MID number guide.

What registration commits you to

There is no registration fee published on the Pag-IBIG membership page. The commitment is the monthly contribution, which since February 2024 runs like this.

Member type You pay Employer pays Total each month
Employed, private or public ₱200 ₱200 ₱400
Self-employed ₱400 none ₱400
OFW without a Philippine employer ₱200 none ₱200
OFW with a Philippine employer, such as a seafarer ₱200 ₱200 ₱400

Pag-IBIG sets the member’s ₱200 at 2% of the ₱10,000 Maximum Fund Salary. A member earning under ₱10,000 in a month contributes 2% of actual earnings for that month instead. The Pag-IBIG contribution table has the full breakdown and the payment channels.

What membership gets you, and when

Registering does not make you eligible for anything immediately. The cash loans have a savings history requirement that starts counting from your first contribution.

Programme What it needs after registration
Regular Savings dividends Credited annually; Pag-IBIG declared 6.62% for 2025
Multi-Purpose Loan At least 12 monthly savings, 1 of them in the last 6 months
Calamity Loan At least 12 monthly savings, 1 of them in the last 6 months, plus a declared calamity in your area
Home Improvement Loan At least 12 monthly savings, 1 in the last 6 months, plus a titled property
Regular Savings maturity claim 240 monthly savings, or 180 for the optional 15-year withdrawal

Twelve monthly savings is the practical horizon. At the mandatory ₱400 a month that is ₱4,800 of contributions before the first cash loan is available, and 90% of ₱4,800 is ₱4,320, which is what such a loan would be worth at that point. The Multi-Purpose Loan guide sets out how that grows.

Correcting your information

Eight categories route through the Member’s Change of Information Form, submitted at any Pag-IBIG branch with supporting documents.

# What you can change
1 Change of membership category
2 Correction of name
3 Correction of birth date
4 Correction of marital status
5 Change of address or contact details
6 Change of employment details
7 Updating of heirs
8 Correction of place of birth, mother’s maiden name, or sex

Two rules apply to the supporting documents. Wherever a photocopy is submitted, the original or a certified true copy must be presented for authentication. And for documents issued abroad, such as a birth, marriage or death certificate:

  • if the issuing country is a member of The Hague Apostille Convention, the document must be apostillised by the concerned apostillisation authority
  • if not, the document must be duly certified by the Philippine Consulate General or Philippine Embassy in the country where it was issued

That second rule matters to OFWs in particular, and it mirrors the verified-or-apostilled logic the DMW applies to employment contracts, which the OEC guide covers.

Merging duplicate records

Two Pag-IBIG records means two savings balances, and a loan application that sees only one of them. Pag-IBIG’s fix is a branch visit with three items.

# Requirement
1 Accomplished Request for Consolidation/Merging of Member’s Records (RCMMR)
2 One valid ID
3 One photocopy of your Social Security System (SSS) employment history

The SSS employment history is the interesting one. It is what lets Pag-IBIG line up the employers behind each record. If you do not have it, the My.SSS registration guide covers getting into the SSS portal where it lives.

What this page does not cover

Pag-IBIG does not publish, on the membership page, a registration fee, the requirements list for the initial online registration itself, a processing time for a change of information or a record merge, or the rules for household employer and kasambahay membership, which sit on a separate page. None of those are stated here.

The Pag-IBIG MID number guide covers verifying and retrieving the number this process produces. The Pag-IBIG contribution table covers what you pay each month, and the Regular Savings guide covers what it builds and when you can take it out.

Frequently asked questions

How do I register with Pag-IBIG online?
Go to Virtual Pag-IBIG, click Be A Member and select Register, enter your name, middle name, last name and birth date, complete the remaining details and click Submit. Save the Registration Tracking Number you are given.
What details do I need to be careful about?
Pag-IBIG's own note on the registration step is explicit: make sure the personal details you enter match exactly the information on your birth certificate. A mismatch is what later forces a Member's Change of Information Form at a branch.
How long until I get my MID Number?
2 to 3 working days after you receive your Registration Tracking Number. You then go back to Virtual Pag-IBIG, click Be A Member, select Verify MID Number, and enter your RTN, last name and date of birth.
What does membership cost?
There is no registration fee published on the Pag-IBIG membership page. What membership commits you to is the monthly contribution: ₱400 for an employed member, made up of ₱200 from you and ₱200 from your employer, ₱400 for a self-employed member, and ₱200 for an OFW.
How do I correct my name or birth date?
At a branch. Accomplish and submit the Member's Change of Information Form with the supporting documents. Pag-IBIG lists eight categories that route through this form, from correction of name to updating of heirs.
I have two Pag-IBIG records. How do I merge them?
Visit any Pag-IBIG branch with an accomplished Request for Consolidation/Merging of Member's Records (RCMMR), one valid ID, and one photocopy of your SSS employment history.
My birth certificate was issued abroad. Does it still count?
Yes, with an extra step. If the issuing country is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, the document must be apostillised by the concerned authority. If not, it must be certified by the Philippine Consulate General or Philippine Embassy in the country where it was issued.
What can I do once I am a member?
Membership is the entry point to Regular Savings, MP2, the cash loans and the home loan programmes. The cash loans need at least 12 monthly savings with one in the last 6 months before you can apply.
