How much, and how often
| Frequency | Months | At the ₱500.00 minimum | At a ₱30,000.00 income | At the ceiling |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly | 1 | ₱500.00 | ₱1,500.00 | ₱5,000.00 |
| Quarterly | 3 | ₱1,500.00 | ₱4,500.00 | ₱15,000.00 |
| Semi-annually | 6 | ₱3,000.00 | ₱9,000.00 | ₱30,000.00 |
| Annually | 12 | ₱6,000.00 | ₱18,000.00 | ₱60,000.00 |
The rate is 5.0% of monthly income, between a ₱10,000.00 floor and a ₱100,000.00 ceiling. The contribution table has every band, and the calculator runs your own figure.
The two dates that matter
| Date | What happens |
|---|---|
| December 31 | All premiums for that calendar year must be settled |
| January 31 | End of the statutory 1 month grace period; unpaid premiums for the preceding year may be settled without interest until this date |
| After January 31 | Interest accrues per Section 9 of RA 11223, computed from the December 31 due date |
| The interest | Compounded monthly, not exceeding 1.5% |
Note the interest is computed from December 31, not from the end of the grace period. The grace period stops the clock being charged, not the clock running.
Falling behind
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|
| Benefits | Failure to pay shall not prevent the enjoyment of any Program benefits |
| Obligation | You are required to pay all missed contributions including interest |
| Eligibility | The UHC Act grants immediate eligibility for benefits upon enrolment |
| Consequences | As outlined in Section V.C.6 of Circular 2026-0011 and Section 38.10 of the UHC Act’s IRR |
| If you genuinely cannot pay | Referral to a DSWD or LGU social worker, or any licensed social worker, for an assessment of financial capacity |
PhilHealth also published Circular No. 2026-0010, Waiver of Interests and Payment in Installment Arrangements for Missed Premium Contributions. This guide does not summarise its terms, because they were not read from the source for it.
Paying from overseas
| Rule | Detail |
|---|---|

Against the other agencies’ payment systems
| Agency | Payment reference | Range |
|---|---|---|
| PhilHealth | SPA, Statement of Premium Account | ₱500.00 to ₱5,000.00 a month |
| SSS | PRN, Payment Reference Number, published at 17 minutes to generate | ₱760.00 to ₱5,280.00 a month |
| Pag-IBIG | Virtual Pag-IBIG, 24/7 | ₱400 a month |
| BIR | eFPS and eBIRForms, with ePay | Annual return due April 15 |
All three social agencies now run on a generated reference number that the payment must match. PhilHealth’s is the SPA, SSS’s is the PRN.
What this page does not cover
PhilHealth does not publish, on the pages read for this guide, the named list of Accredited Collecting Agents, transaction fees charged by those agents, a posting turnaround after payment, the SPA’s validity period, or the terms of the interest waiver and installment arrangements in Circular 2026-0010. None of those are stated here.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I pay as a self-paying member?
- Against a Statement of Premium Account, or SPA. PhilHealth publishes an SPA Generator among its online services, with a step-by-step procedure. Premium contributions can then be remitted on presentation of the SPA through any Local Health Insurance Office or Accredited Collecting Agent nationwide or abroad.
- Can I pay online?
- Yes. PhilHealth states that for easier and more convenient means, self-paying members may opt to pay using the PhilHealth Member Portal or other available online platforms. The portal also carries online payment of premium contributions among its published functions.
- Does the amount have to match exactly?
- Yes. PhilHealth states that premium payments must match the amount indicated on the presented SPA.
- How many months can I pay at once?
- Self-paying members may pay for any number of applicable months. PhilHealth publishes monthly, quarterly over 3 months, semi-annually over 6 months and annually over 12 months, which at the ₱500.00 minimum is ₱1,500.00, ₱3,000.00 and ₱6,000.00.
- What is the deadline?
- All premiums for the calendar year must be settled no later than December 31 of that same year. There is then a statutory 1 month grace period: unpaid premiums for the preceding calendar year may be settled without interest until January 31 of the following year.
- What happens if I miss the grace period?
- Unpaid balances accrue interest per Section 9 of RA 11223, computed from the actual due date of December 31 of the applicable year, compounded monthly, not exceeding one and one-half percent (1.5%).
- Do I lose my benefits if I fall behind?
- No. PhilHealth states that failure to pay premiums shall not prevent the enjoyment of any Program benefits, and that the UHC Act grants immediate eligibility upon enrolment. You are still required to pay all missed contributions including interest.
- Can I pay from abroad?
- Yes. PhilHealth states contributions can be paid to all accredited collecting agents both local and overseas, and that remittance on an SPA is available through any LHIO or ACA nationwide or abroad.
