Jeddah publishes two things most posts do not: a complete Saudi riyal fee schedule on one page, and a table of road distances to every city in its consular jurisdiction. If you are driving in from Tabuk, that second table is the more useful one.
Passport fees
| Service | Fee |
|---|---|
| New passport, 44 pages, ePassport | SAR 240.00 |
| Travel document | SAR 120.00 |
| Lost passport, machine readable, including notarial of the affidavit of loss | SAR 460.00 |
| Lost passport, ePassport, including notarial of the affidavit of loss | SAR 700.00 |
Losing an ePassport costs SAR 700.00 against SAR 240.00 for a new one, a multiple of 2.92. Unlike London and Milan, the affidavit is not a separate line: the Consulate states the notarial of the affidavit of loss is already inside both lost-passport figures.
On timing, the Consulate is blunt. New passports may become available up to 45 days from the date of application. Requirement checklists for the Saudi posts are in the passport renewal in Saudi Arabia guide.
Notarial, civil registry and citizenship fees
| Service | Fee |
|---|---|
| Authentication, notarial or certification | SAR 100.00 |
| Report of birth or death | SAR 100.00 |
| Supplemental report | SR 100.00 |
| NBI clearance | SR 100.00 |
| Dual citizenship under RA 9225 | SAR 200.00 |
| Correction of entry, clerical error, RA 9048 | SAR 200.00 |
| Correction of entry, change of first name, RA 9048 | SAR 600.00 |
Regular notarial and authentication processing is 2 days.
Changing a first name under RA 9048 is SAR 600.00, which is 3 times the SAR 200.00 clerical-error fee and 6 times the SAR 100.00 it cost to register the document in the first place. The law treats the two corrections differently and so does the till.
Clearance from outside the Philippines is covered in the NBI clearance abroad guide.
The dual citizenship figure disagrees with itself
The Consulate publishes SAR 200.00 for RA 9225 on its Schedule of Fees, and on its Retention and Re-acquisition page it states that the applicant pays a processing fee of US$ 50.00 and is then assigned a schedule for the oath of allegiance. Those are two different published numbers for the same service on the same site, and nothing on either page reconciles them.
Both are printed here rather than resolved. What the process itself involves is in the dual citizenship guide. One rule the Consulate is unambiguous about: children 18 years old and over do not qualify under RA 9225, and have the same options open to a foreign spouse.
Marriage fees
| Service | Fee |
|---|---|
| Marriage license | SAR 100.00 |
| Notarial or certification of other documents for marriage | SAR 100.00 |
| Authentication of a marriage certificate | SAR 100.00 |
| Marriage solemnization | SAR 240.00 |
| Report of marriage, for a marriage held outside the Consulate | SAR 100.00 |
Marrying at the Consulate costs SAR 240.00 to solemnise plus SAR 100.00 for the licence. Marrying elsewhere and reporting it afterwards is SAR 100.00. Registering the Philippine-side record is covered in the PSA marriage certificate guide.
Visa fees
| Visa | Fee |
|---|---|
| Certification of visa application | SAR 100.00 |
| Single entry, 3 months validity, Category A | SAR 120.00 |
| Single entry, 3 months validity, Category B | SAR 160.00 |
| Multiple entry, 6 months validity, Category A | SAR 240.00 |
| Multiple entry, 6 months validity, Category B | SAR 320.00 |
| Multiple entry, 1 year validity, Category A | SAR 360.00 |
| Multiple entry, 1 year validity, Category B | SAR 480.00 |
| Student visa | SAR 1,000.00 |
Category B runs about 33% above Category A at every tier, and the schedule never says what separates them. The student visa at SAR 1,000.00 is the largest single fee the Consulate publishes, 4.17 times a one-year multiple entry at Category A.
The jurisdiction, in kilometres
| City | Distance from Jeddah |
|---|---|
| Makkah | 79 km |
| Taif | 167 km |
| Rabigh | 179 km |
| Al-Baha | 356 km |
| Yanbu | 367 km |
| Madina | 413 km |
| Abha | 628 km |
| Khamis Mushayt | 639 km |
| Jizan | 777 km |
| Najran | 856 km |
| Duba | 926 km |
| Tabuk | 1,010 km |
The spread is what makes the up to 45 days passport wait matter. A resident of Makkah is 79 km away and can reasonably return to collect. A resident of Tabuk is 1,010 km away, nearly 13 times the distance, and is making a very different journey for the same document.
What this page does not cover
The Consulate’s Citizen’s Charter pages carry no readable fee or timing tables, so the only published processing times on this page are the 2 days for notarials and the up to 45 days for passports. Nothing is published for visas, civil registry or RA 9225. The schedule also does not define the visa Category A and Category B split, and no expedite option appears anywhere on it.
Frequently asked questions
- How much is a Philippine passport in Jeddah?
- SAR 240.00 for a new 44-page ePassport. Replacing a lost ePassport is SAR 700.00 and replacing a lost machine readable passport is SAR 460.00, both of which the Consulate states already include the notarial of the affidavit of loss. A travel document is SAR 120.00.
- How long does a passport take?
- The Consulate states that new passports may become available up to 45 days from the date of application, and asks applicants to plan accordingly. Regular notarial and authentication processing is 2 days.
- What does the Consulate charge for notarials and civil registry?
- SAR 100.00 covers authentication, notarial and certification, a report of birth or death, a marriage license, a report of marriage for a marriage held outside the Consulate, and a certification of visa application. NBI clearance and a supplemental report are also SR 100.00.
- How much is dual citizenship in Jeddah?
- The Consulate publishes two different figures. Its Schedule of Fees lists dual citizenship under RA 9225 at SAR 200.00, while its Retention and Re-acquisition page states a processing fee of US$ 50.00 paid before the oath of allegiance. This guide prints both rather than picking one.
- Can my adult children get citizenship under RA 9225 too?
- No. The Consulate states plainly that children 18 years old and over do not qualify to acquire Philippine citizenship under RA 9225, and that they have the same options open to a foreign spouse.
- What does correcting a civil registry entry cost?
- SAR 200.00 for a clerical error under RA 9048 and SAR 600.00 for a change of first name under the same law. The change of first name is 3 times the clerical-error fee and 6 times the SAR 100.00 it costs to register the document originally.
- Which cities does the Jeddah Consulate cover?
- It publishes road distances to 12 of them: Makkah at 79 km, Taif 167 km, Rabigh 179 km, Al-Baha 356 km, Yanbu 367 km, Madina 413 km, Abha 628 km, Khamis Mushayt 639 km, Jizan 777 km, Najran 856 km, Duba 926 km and Tabuk at 1,010 km.
- Why are the visa fees split into Category A and Category B?
- The schedule prints two columns for every 9(a) visitor visa without defining the categories anywhere on the page. Category B is consistently higher: SAR 160.00 against SAR 120.00 for a single entry, and SAR 480.00 against SAR 360.00 for a one-year multiple entry.
