London is one of the few Philippine posts that still takes walk-ins with no appointment. The catch is that its counter does not close at one time. It closes at two, and the earlier one is the one people miss.

The two closing times

Service Hours
Passport services 9:30am to 4:30pm
PH Citizenship Retention and Reacquisition, RA 9225 9:30am to 4:30pm
Certification requests 9:30am to 4:30pm
NBI clearance fingerprinting 9:30am to 4:30pm
Legalization and notarial of documents 9:30am to 3:00pm
Civil registry 9:30am to 3:00pm

Notarials and civil registry shut 90 minutes before passports do. Arriving at 3:30pm to report a birth is arriving after that counter has closed, on a day the Embassy is plainly still open for passports.

Which room

Service Waiting Processing
Passport application Consular Waiting Area, Ground Floor Ground Floor processing windows
Civil registration Consular Waiting Area, Ground Floor Ground Floor processing windows
NBI clearance fingerprinting Consular Waiting Area, Ground Floor Ground Floor processing windows
Legalization and notarial of documents Room A, 1st Floor Room B, 1st Floor
RA 9225 dual citizenship Room C, 1st Floor Room C, 1st Floor

Three services stay on the ground floor and three go upstairs. The split matters on a walk-in system, where nobody directs you to a booked window.

Passport fees

Service Fee
Renewal of ePassport, adult £55.00
Affidavit of Delayed Renewal, where expired more than 2 years £23.00
Replacement of a lost ePassport, with electronic chip £137.00
Replacement of a lost machine readable passport, no chip £82.00
Emergency travel document £28.00
Affidavit accompanying a travel document £23.00

The 2 year expiry line is a real cliff. Renewing a passport that expired 23 months ago is £55.00. Renewing one that expired 25 months ago is £78.00, because the Affidavit of Delayed Renewal becomes compulsory. Nothing about the passport changes; only the date does.

Losing an ePassport at £137.00 is 2.49 times an ordinary renewal. Requirement checklists for each route are in the passport renewal in the UK guide.

Civil registry fees

Service Fee
Report of Birth £23.00
Report of Marriage £23.00
Report of Death £23.00
Consular Mortuary Certificate £23.00
Petition for correction of a clerical error, filing fee £46.00

The flat £23.00 covers every ordinary report. Correcting a mistake in one costs £46.00, exactly double, and the Embassy is specific about when that becomes payable: the petitioner pays only once the petition is found sufficient in form and substance, not on submission.

Two rules sit alongside the marriage paperwork. A marriage license is valid for 120 days from the date of issuance. A widow may not contract marriage within 301 days from the death of her husband. Registering the Philippine-side record afterwards is covered in the PSA marriage certificate guide.

Reacquiring citizenship under RA 9225 runs in Room C; what the process involves is in the dual citizenship guide, and clearance from outside the Philippines in the NBI clearance abroad guide.

Reporting a birth for an older child

The Report of Birth page carries age rules rather than extra fees. Where the applicant is already of legal age, 18 years old and above, the applicant’s own original valid passport or valid identification plus four photocopies are required. Where the child is below 7 years old the Affidavit to Use the Surname of the Father is executed by the mother. Where the child is aged 7 to 17 years and executes the AUSF themselves, four copies of a Sworn Attestation executed by the mother are required alongside it.

What this page does not cover

The Embassy publishes no processing times for any service, so nothing here states how long a passport or a Report of Birth takes in London. It publishes no expedite fee, unlike Vancouver and Milan. And its Contact Information page, which sits in the consular menu, rendered no address and no telephone number when read on 2026-09-02, so neither appears above.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an appointment at the Philippine Embassy in London?
No. The Embassy states that it accepts walk-in services with no appointment needed, Mondays to Fridays except holidays. That is unusual among Philippine posts, several of which refuse walk-ins outright.
What are the service hours?
There are two bands, not one. Passport services, Philippine citizenship retention and reacquisition under RA 9225, certification requests and NBI clearance fingerprinting run 9:30am to 4:30pm. Legalization, notarial of documents and civil registry stop at 3:00pm.
How much is a passport renewal in London?
£55.00 for an adult ePassport renewal. If your passport has been expired for more than 2 years you also need an Affidavit of Delayed Renewal of Passport, which is £23.00, bringing it to £78.00.
What does a lost passport cost?
£137.00 for a lost ePassport with an electronic chip, and £82.00 for a lost machine readable passport without one. An emergency travel document is a separate route at £28.00 plus a £23.00 affidavit.
How much are civil registry documents?
£23.00 each for a Report of Birth, Report of Marriage, Report of Death and a Consular Mortuary Certificate. Correcting a clerical error is different: the £46.00 filing fee is payable only once the petition is found sufficient in form and substance.
Which room do I go to?
The Embassy allocates by service. Passport applications, civil registration and NBI clearance fingerprinting use the Consular Waiting Area on the Ground Floor and the Ground Floor processing windows. Legalization and notarial of documents wait in Room A on the 1st Floor and are processed in Room B. RA 9225 dual citizenship is handled in Room C on the 1st Floor.
How long is a marriage license valid?
The Embassy states that a marriage license is valid for 120 days from the date of issuance. It also states that a widow may not contract marriage within 301 days from the death of her husband.
Does the Embassy publish its address and phone number?
Its Contact Information page exists in the consular menu, but when read on 2026-09-02 it rendered no street address and no telephone number. This guide does not print either, because printing an address that was not read off the source would be a guess.
