Where these figures come from

About these figures: the numbers below come from Pag-IBIG's official published sources: Pag-IBIG Fund | Calamity Loan (https://www.pagibigfund.gov.ph/member_cashloans_calamity.html, retrieved 2026-08-31); Pag-IBIG Fund | Multi-Purpose Loan (https://www.pagibigfund.gov.ph/member_cashloans_mpl.html, retrieved 2026-08-31); Pag-IBIG Fund | Regular Savings (https://www.pagibigfund.gov.ph/Membership_RegularSavings.html, retrieved 2026-08-31). Agencies change fees and rates without notice, so confirm with Pag-IBIG before you rely on them. Last verified: 2026-08-31.

The Pag-IBIG Calamity Loan is a cash loan against your own Pag-IBIG savings, opened when your area is placed under a state of calamity. Pag-IBIG lends up to 90% of your total Pag-IBIG Regular Savings at 5.95% per year, over 12, 24 or 36 months, with the first payment due on the 3rd month after release, and advertises the money in as fast as 3 days.

Pag-IBIG describes the 5.95% as the lowest interest rate in the market. The programme exists to provide immediate financial aid to members in calamity-stricken areas as declared by the Office of the President or the Sangguniang Bayan.

The 90-day window is the part people miss

Two conditions set this loan apart from every other Pag-IBIG cash loan, and both are time-bound and place-bound.

Condition What Pag-IBIG requires
Where you are You must be residing or working in an area declared under a State of Calamity by the Local Government Unit or the national government
How long you have You must apply within 90 days from the official declaration of a State of Calamity in your area

Ninety days is roughly 3 months from the declaration date, not from the storm, the flood or the earthquake itself. The declaration is the clock that matters, and Pag-IBIG names the Office of the President or the Sangguniang Bayan as the bodies that issue it. If no declaration covers where you live or work, this loan is not open to you and the Pag-IBIG Multi-Purpose Loan is the cash loan that is.

Who qualifies

On top of the two calamity conditions, the standard cash-loan rules apply.

Requirement What Pag-IBIG asks for
Savings history At least 12 monthly membership savings under Pag-IBIG Regular Savings
Active membership At least 1 monthly membership saving within the last 6 months before the application date
Existing loans Any existing Pag-IBIG MPL, Calamity Loan or HELPs account must not be in default
Income Proof of income
Location Residing or working in an area under a declared State of Calamity
Timing Application filed within 90 days of that declaration

How much you can borrow

The ceiling is 90% of your total Pag-IBIG Regular Savings. Pag-IBIG defines that total as your monthly contributions, your employer’s contributions and the dividends already credited to you. An outstanding MPL, Calamity Loan or HELPs balance is subtracted from the 90% before anything is released.

Total Regular Savings 90% loanable amount 12-month payment 24-month payment 36-month payment
₱10,000 ₱9,000 ₱774 ₱399 ₱274
₱20,000 ₱18,000 ₱1,549 ₱797 ₱547
₱30,000 ₱27,000 ₱2,323 ₱1,196 ₱821
₱50,000 ₱45,000 ₱3,872 ₱1,993 ₱1,368
₱75,000 ₱67,500 ₱5,808 ₱2,990 ₱2,052
₱100,000 ₱90,000 ₱7,744 ₱3,987 ₱2,736
₱150,000 ₱135,000 ₱11,616 ₱5,980 ₱4,104
₱200,000 ₱180,000 ₱15,488 ₱7,974 ₱5,472

The 90% ceiling is official. The payment columns are not. They are standard annuity arithmetic run on 5.95% a year by this site, not Pag-IBIG quotations, and they assume level payments from month 1. The real loan defers the first payment to the 3rd month, which shifts the schedule and can change the total.

Pag-IBIG publishes no peso ceiling on this loan. The only limit named on the page is your own savings balance, and the way to see yours is your Total Accumulated Value in Virtual Pag-IBIG.

What the loan costs

Same arithmetic, arranged by loan amount so you can find the row nearest yours.

Loan amount 12 months, payment / interest 24 months, payment / interest 36 months, payment / interest
₱10,000 ₱860 / ₱325 ₱443 / ₱632 ₱304 / ₱944
₱20,000 ₱1,721 / ₱650 ₱886 / ₱1,263 ₱608 / ₱1,887
₱50,000 ₱4,302 / ₱1,626 ₱2,215 / ₱3,158 ₱1,520 / ₱4,719
₱100,000 ₱8,604 / ₱3,252 ₱4,430 / ₱6,315 ₱3,040 / ₱9,437
₱180,000 ₱15,488 / ₱5,854 ₱7,974 / ₱11,368 ₱5,472 / ₱16,987

A ₱100,000 loan paid over 12 months is projected to cost ₱3,252 in interest. The same ₱100,000 over 36 months is projected at ₱9,437, or ₱6,185 more, for a payment ₱5,564 a month lower. Stretching the term roughly triples the interest in every row of that table.

Calamity Loan against Multi-Purpose Loan

Both loans lend 90% of the same Regular Savings over the same 12, 24 or 36 months. The rate is where they part.

Calamity Loan Multi-Purpose Loan
Interest 5.95% per year 1.4583% per month
How much Up to 90% of Regular Savings Up to 90% of Regular Savings
Term 12, 24 or 36 months 12, 24 or 36 months
First payment Due on the 3rd month after release Deferred, length not published
Who can apply Members in an area under a declared state of calamity Any qualified member
Deadline Within 90 days of the declaration None
Circular Circular No. 470 Circular No. 469

On the same loan over 36 months, the projected difference is real money.

Loan amount Calamity payment / interest MPL payment / interest Interest difference
₱10,000 ₱304 / ₱944 ₱359 / ₱2,925 ₱1,981
₱20,000 ₱608 / ₱1,887 ₱718 / ₱5,849 ₱3,962
₱50,000 ₱1,520 / ₱4,719 ₱1,795 / ₱14,623 ₱9,905
₱100,000 ₱3,040 / ₱9,437 ₱3,590 / ₱29,247 ₱19,809
₱180,000 ₱5,472 / ₱16,987 ₱6,462 / ₱52,644 ₱35,657

That is an observation about two published rates, not a choice available to most members most of the time. The Calamity Loan only opens when a declaration covers your area, and it closes 90 days later.

Uploading the form and requirements through Virtual Pag-IBIG is open to members with a Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Plus or a cash card issued by a Pag-IBIG partner bank. Completing the application entirely online, for members whose employers are enrolled under Virtual Pag-IBIG for Employers, is open to Loyalty Card Plus holders only. The card costs ₱125 at a branch and the Loyalty Card Plus guide covers how to get one.

There is a third route. Pag-IBIG accepts Calamity Loan applications through Lingkod Pag-IBIG on Wheels, its mobile branch, which it deploys to affected communities after a calamity.

Lingkod Pag-IBIG on Wheels, by the numbers

Pag-IBIG publishes the 2025 deployment figures for the mobile branches on the Calamity Loan page itself. They served over 66,300 members nationwide in 2025.

Region Members served in 2025
Visayas 26,839
North Luzon 15,733
NCR 14,787
Mindanao 6,692
South Luzon 2,246
International Operations Group 58

Visayas alone accounts for 26,839 of the total, more than North Luzon and NCR apart. The mobile units also handle membership verification, Multi-Purpose Loan applications, claims processing and Loyalty Card Plus enrolment, so a deployment after a calamity is not limited to this one loan.

Paying it back

The loan is payable within 12, 24 or 36 months, with the initial payment due on the 3rd month after release. Employed members can arrange salary deduction with their employer and can pay ahead through Virtual Pag-IBIG or any accredited collecting partner’s outlet or online channel. Self-employed members and OFWs pay through Virtual Pag-IBIG or those same collecting partners.

What this page does not cover

The Calamity Loan page publishes no processing fee, no service charge, no insurance premium and no penalty rate for late payment, and it does not say whether interest accrues during the 3-month grace period. None of that is asserted here. It also does not carry the current list of areas under a declared state of calamity, which changes constantly and comes from the LGU or the national government, not from Pag-IBIG. The programme rules are in Pag-IBIG Fund Circular No. 470, Enhanced Guidelines on the Pag-IBIG Fund Calamity Loan Program, linked from the page.

The size of this loan is set by your Regular Savings, which since February 2024 has been fed by ₱400 a month, ₱200 from the member matched by ₱200 from the employer. The Pag-IBIG MP2 guide covers the separate voluntary savings programme, and the Pag-IBIG housing loan guide has the published rate ladder for the loan that is not capped by your savings balance. The MP2 savings calculator will run your own monthly amount.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Pag-IBIG Calamity Loan interest rate?
5.95% per annum. Pag-IBIG describes it on the programme page as the lowest interest rate in the market.
How much can I borrow?
Up to 90% of your total Pag-IBIG Regular Savings, which is your own contributions, your employer's contributions and the dividends already credited. If you have an outstanding Multi-Purpose Loan, Calamity Loan or HELPs, you receive the difference between that 90% and the outstanding balance.
Who can apply for a Pag-IBIG Calamity Loan?
A member with at least 12 monthly membership savings, at least one of them within the last 6 months, no defaulted MPL, Calamity Loan or HELPs account, proof of income, and residence or work in an area declared under a state of calamity by the LGU or the national government.
How long do I have to apply after a calamity?
90 days from the official declaration of a state of calamity for your area by the Office of the President or the Sangguniang Bayan. Pag-IBIG states that window in both the qualifications list and the programme Q&A.
When is the first payment due?
On the 3rd month after the loan is released. Pag-IBIG also describes this as a 3-month grace period. The loan runs 12, 24 or 36 months.
How fast is the money released?
Pag-IBIG advertises release in as fast as 3 days, and its application steps say to allow 2 to 3 working days for processing and validation. An SMS alert follows once the loan is credited to your cash card.
Can I have a Calamity Loan and a Multi-Purpose Loan at the same time?
Pag-IBIG does not forbid it, but both draw on the same 90% of your Regular Savings. The amount released on the second loan is the 90% figure minus the outstanding balance of the first, and neither account may be in default.
Are the monthly payments on this page official?
No. The 5.95% rate, the 90% ceiling and the 12, 24 and 36-month terms are official. The payment figures are standard annuity arithmetic run on that rate by this site, and they do not model the 3-month grace period.
