Philippine Embassy Kuwait: Fees, Hours and Waiting
Department of Foreign Affairs · consular
Quick answer
The Philippine Embassy in Kuwait charges KD 19.500 for a passport, KWD 48.750 to replace a lost one and KD 8.125 per notarial. Consular work runs Sunday to Thursday, 08:00 AM to 02:00 PM, and passports take 4 to 6 weeks. Payment is KNET or cash, Kuwait Dinar only.
Kuwait runs the Gulf week, Sunday to Thursday, and splits the day in two: applications in the morning, releasing in the afternoon. It also prices in Kuwait Dinar to three decimal places, which is how the currency works, so KD 19.500 is nineteen and a half dinars, not nineteen thousand.
Where and when
| Detail | |
|---|---|
| Applications and personal appearance | Sunday to Thursday, 08:00 AM to 02:00 PM |
| Notarial processing | 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM |
| Releasing | 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM |
| Migrant Workers Office at the Embassy | 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Sundays to Thursdays |
| Payment | KNET or cash, Kuwait Dinar only, in person |
The two clocks overlap by 1 hour, between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM. Outside that window you can either lodge an application or collect a document, but not both, so a single trip to do both has to land inside that hour.
The MWO opens 1 hour earlier and closes 2 hours later than the consular counter. Its role is covered in the Migrant Workers Office guide.
Passport fees
| Service | Fee |
|---|---|
| New or renewed ePassport | KD 19.500 |
| Lost passport, valid or expired | KWD 48.750 |
| Travel document, regular processing, released after 3 days | KWD 9.750 |
Losing a passport costs KWD 48.750 against KD 19.500 for a renewal, a multiple of 2.5. Kuwait does not split the fee by document type the way the Canadian and Hong Kong posts do: valid and expired passports are charged the same.
Three documents come with it, and the police report is the one that takes outside time: a copy of the lost passport where available, a Police Report with English translation, and a notarized Affidavit of Loss.
On timing the Embassy is direct. Allow 4 to 6 weeks, which it also states as 45 days, after application for the release of a passport. Requirement checklists are in the passport renewal in Kuwait guide.
Notarial and civil registry fees
| Service | Fee | Speed |
|---|---|---|
| Notarial or authentication, per document | KD 8.125 | regular 3 working days, expedite 24 hours |
| Report of Birth | KD 8.125 | |
| Certificate of Registration | KD 8.125 | |
| Expedite fee, same-day processing | KD 3.250 | same day |
KD 8.125 is the flat rate across notarials and civil registry alike. The expedite fee of KD 3.250 is 40% of the base fee and buys same-day processing on a civil registry document, against a 3 working day regular wait on a notarial.
A Report of Birth with its Certificate of Registration and same-day processing comes to KD 19.500, which is exactly the price of a passport.
Applicants aged 18 and above need a Negative Certificate of Birth Record from the PSA, and everyone executing the document must appear in person, Sunday to Thursday between 08:00 AM and 02:00 PM. The Philippine-side record is covered in the PSA birth certificate guide, and the welfare membership most workers in Kuwait also hold in the OWWA membership guide.
Visas
| Service | Fee |
|---|---|
| Single entry, valid 3 months | KD 13.000 |
The Embassy states plainly that it currently does not issue multiple-entry Tourist Visas, so the single entry is the only tourist route it offers. Applications are accepted 08:00 AM to 02:00 PM and should be submitted at least 30 days before the intended departure to the Philippines.
That 30 day lead time sits oddly against the 4 to 6 week passport wait: a traveller who needs both a new passport and a visa is looking at the passport clock first, and it is the longer of the two.
What this page does not cover
The Embassy publishes no street address or telephone number on the consular pages read for this guide, so none appears above. It publishes no fee for dual citizenship, NBI clearance or authentication of a marriage record, and no processing time for visas. The KD 3.250 expedite fee is published against civil registry; nothing on the passport pages says whether a passport can be expedited at all.
