Vienna publishes two things most posts leave out: a cash-only rule stated against the passport fee, and a return-postage schedule that quietly reveals how far its jurisdiction reaches.
Where and who it covers
| Detail | |
|---|---|
| Consular Section | ARES Tower, 20th Floor, Donau-City Strasse 11, 1220 Vienna |
| Telephone | +43 (1) 5332401 |
| Return postage, Austria | €6.60 |
| Return postage, Croatia, Slovakia and Slovenia | €12.40 |
The postage line is the jurisdiction line. An embassy does not price return post to Croatia, Slovakia and Slovenia unless applicants there file with it, so Vienna’s reach is four countries rather than one.
Passport fees
| Service | Fee |
|---|---|
| ePassport, payable in cash only | €60.00 |
| Lost ePassport | €150.00 |
| Affidavit of Loss or Damage | €25.00 |
Losing a passport costs €175.00 once the affidavit is added, against €60.00 for an ordinary one, a multiple of 2.92 that recurs at almost every post on this site.
The Affidavit of Loss must state in detail the circumstances of the loss or damage, which is the Embassy’s own wording and not a formality.
Requirement checklists for an overseas renewal are in the passport renewal abroad guide.
Civil registry and certification fees
| Service | Fee | Release |
|---|---|---|
| Report of Birth | €25.00 | three working days |
| Affidavit with a Report of Birth | €25.00 | |
| Report of Death | €25.00 | three working days |
| Affidavit with a Report of Death | €25.00 | |
| Certification | €25.00 | |
| Additional charge where a German translation is required | €25.00 |
€25.00 is the flat rate, and affidavits stack on top of it rather than being included. A Report of Birth needing one affidavit is €50.00, not €25.00.
The German-translation surcharge is the one fee here with no counterpart at other posts: it doubles a certification to €50.00, and it exists because the receiving authority is Austrian rather than Philippine.
The Philippine-side record that follows is covered in the PSA birth certificate guide.
Visa fees
| Visa | First band | Second band |
|---|---|---|
| Single entry, valid 3 months | €30.00 | €40.00 |
| Multiple entry, valid 6 months | €60.00 | €80.00 |
| Multiple entry, valid 12 months | €90.00 | €120.00 |
Whichever you buy, the entry permission is the same: the Embassy states that a temporary visitor’s visa entitles the holder to a maximum stay of 59 days per entry. A 12-month multiple entry does not mean twelve months in the country, it means repeated 59-day stays across a year.
Mail applicants add €6.50 for Austria or €12.15 for other countries, which the Embassy says is used to send the visa back.
Vienna against the base schedule
Like Rome and Milan, Vienna prints the network’s US dollar base rate unchanged, euro for dollar:
| Service | Vienna | USD base |
|---|---|---|
| Passport | €60.00 | $60.00 |
| Lost passport | €150.00 | $150.00 |
| Notarial and civil registry | €25.00 | $25.00 |
| Visitor visa, 3 months single | €30.00 | $30.00 |
| Visitor visa, 6 months multiple | €60.00 | $60.00 |
| Visitor visa, 12 months multiple | €90.00 | $90.00 |
The base schedule is published in dollars at Honolulu, and the other euro posts run the same figures, as set out in the Philippine Embassy Rome guide.
The two postage figures do not match
| Source page | Austria | Elsewhere |
|---|---|---|
| Visa page | €6.50 | €12.15, other countries |
| Other service page | €6.60 | €12.40, Croatia, Slovakia and Slovenia |
A €0.10 and a €0.25 difference, on pages neither of which is dated. Both are printed here because the Embassy publishes both and nothing on either page reconciles them. The likeliest reading is that they are postage rates for different item weights, but that is inference and the Embassy does not say it.
What this page does not cover
Vienna publishes no office hours on the pages read for this guide, and no processing time for passports or visas, only the three working days for a Report of Birth and a Report of Death. It publishes no dual citizenship fee and no notarial fee separate from the certification fee.
