Skipping the appointment: the Special Lane
Walk-in access runs Monday to Thursday during regular operational hours at DFA Aseana and Consular Offices.

The cost catch is in DFA’s own closing note: senior citizens and PWDs may choose regular or expedited processing, but all other applicants including companions must pay for expedited processing. For a family of three non-exempt applicants that is ₱3,600.00 rather than ₱2,850.00, which is arithmetic on DFA’s published fees.

- DFA operates a No Escort policy: escorts are prohibited from entering consular premises to accompany applicants. The exception is the Special Lane, where a senior citizen, a PWD or a minor may be accompanied by 1 adult companion under stated conditions.

- DFA encourages collared tops, blouses or tops with higher necklines in colours that contrast the background cloth, and asks applicants to avoid sleeveless tops and camisoles. Stud earrings may be accepted for photo capture, but accessories that obscure the face or cast shadows are prohibited.
