Where these figures come from

About these figures: the numbers below come from SSS's official published sources: Social Security System | Citizen's Charter 2026 (1st Edition, External Services) (https://www.sss.gov.ph/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/2026-SSS-Citizens-Charter-1st-Edition-External-Services.pdf, retrieved 2026-08-31); Social Security System | Contact Us (https://www.sss.gov.ph/contact-us/, retrieved 2026-08-31). Agencies change fees and rates without notice, so confirm with SSS before you rely on them. Last verified: 2026-08-31.

SSS documents its mobile app the same way it documents a counter: as named services with published processing times. This page reports exactly those, and does not claim features the charter does not list.

The four published app services

# Service Published time
1 Enrollment of Disbursement Account through the SSS mobile app (MySSS) Not published as a single total
2 Generation of a Payment Reference Number for contributions through the app Not published as a single total
3 Online PRN for contribution payment through the app 15 minutes
4 Salary Loan Application through the app Not published as a single total
5 Filing of Maternity Notification by individual members through the app Not published as a single total

Login uses facial authentication as part of the flow, and the charter’s first step is simply that the member logs in and the system grants access, timed at 3 minutes.

App against website

The same tasks exist on the My.SSS website, and the charter times both.

Task Mobile app My.SSS website
PRN for contribution payment 15 minutes 32 minutes for the online PRN contribution payment
PRN generation for a member’s contributions Published as an app service 17 minutes
SS number application, with document upload Not an app service 2 working days 10 minutes
SS number application, without document upload Not an app service 20 minutes
Employment Report R1A submission Not an app service 8 minutes
Resetting account and password, employer Not an app service 15 minutes
MySSS Card application Not an app service 12 minutes

On SSS’s own published figures the app route to a PRN is about 17 minutes faster than paying through the portal. That subtraction is arithmetic on two published totals, not an SSS claim.

What the app does not do

The charter publishes these as My.SSS portal or over-the-counter services, not app services:

Service Route Published time
Unemployment benefit claim My.SSS 3 working days
Funeral benefit claim My.SSS or over the counter 7 working days
Death benefit claim My.SSS or over the counter 20 working days
Disability benefit claim Personally, by representative, or My.SSS 15 working days
MySSS Card application My.SSS portal 12 minutes
Employer registration My.SSS Covered separately

What you need before installing anything

Prerequisite Where it is covered
An SS number My.SSS registration
A registered My.SSS member account My.SSS registration
A disbursement account enrolled in the DAEM, or a UMID card enrolled as ATM SSS UMID and MySSS Card

Paying through the app

The app’s main job is the Payment Reference Number, which is what makes a payment post against your record.

Figure
Contribution rate 15% of the Monthly Salary Credit
MSC floor ₱5,000
MSC ceiling ₱35,000
Monthly contribution range ₱760.00 to ₱5,280.00
MySSS Pension Booster minimum payment ₱500.00, paid together with regular contributions

The pay contribution guide covers the payment channels, the contribution table the 61 MSC rows, and the WISP guide the voluntary layer whose contributions post in real time.

Loans you can start in the app

Loan Terms Where it is covered
Salary loan 8% per annum for a one-month loan, 10% for two months, 24 amortisations, 1% service fee SSS salary loan
Calamity loan 7% or 10% per annum SSS calamity loan
Pension loan 10% per annum, 2% service fee SSS pension loan
Conso loan, for past due accounts 10% per annum, 1% monthly penalty SSS conso loan

Only the salary loan is a published app service. The others are covered as portal or branch transactions.

What this page does not cover

SSS does not publish, in the charter pages read for this guide, the app’s download links or store listings, its minimum operating system version, a contribution-inquiry or benefit-inquiry service on the app, a loan-status feature, or troubleshooting steps for login failures. None of those are stated here.

The My.SSS registration guide covers the account the app runs on. The pay contribution guide covers what a PRN is for, and the check contribution guide how to read your record.

Frequently asked questions

What can the SSS mobile app do?
The 2026 Citizen's Charter lists four external services delivered through the SSS mobile app (MySSS): enrollment of a disbursement account, generation of a Payment Reference Number for contributions, salary loan application, and filing of a maternity notification by individual members.
How long does PRN generation take on the app?
The charter publishes 15 minutes for an online Payment Reference Number for contribution payment through the SSS mobile app. Through the My.SSS website the equivalent member PRN service is published at 17 minutes, and an online PRN contribution payment through the member portal at 32 minutes.
How do I log in?
The charter's step for the app is that the member logs in to the SSS mobile app and the system grants access. It notes the app uses authentication of facial biometrics as part of that flow.
Do I need a My.SSS account first?
Yes in practice. Every online SSS service in the charter runs off a My.SSS member account, and the charter publishes separate services for My.SSS registration for a member account and for resetting a My.SSS account and password.
Can I check my contributions in the app?
The charter does not publish a contribution-inquiry service for the mobile app on the pages read for this guide, so this page does not claim one. What it does publish is that MySSS Pension Booster contributions post in real time and are viewable in the member's My.SSS account.
Can I apply for a loan in the app?
Yes. Salary Loan Application through the SSS mobile app (MySSS) is a published external service in the charter.
Can I file a benefit claim in the app?
The charter publishes filing of a maternity notification by individual members through the app. Unemployment, funeral, death and disability claims are published as My.SSS portal or over-the-counter services, not app services.
Where do I get help?
SSS Hotline 1455 and usssaptayo@sss.gov.ph. OFWs have a dedicated channel: ofw.relations@sss.gov.ph, landlines (+632) 8364-7796 and (+632) 8364-7798, Globe +63 977 804-8668 and Smart +63 998 847-4092.
