The Consulate’s own framing is that most services need an appointment except those marked By mail. Booking a slot to register a birth is a wasted trip; so is posting a correction request that needed an appointment.

Tracking is worth noting because most posts do not offer it. Kuwait publishes a “Passport Ready for Release” listing instead, and Rome posts dated PDF lists of available passports. New York is the only post covered here with a live tracker.

The Consulate runs consular outreach missions under that name, and has reported processing applications for close to 300 Filipinos across a back-to-back outreach in New Hampshire and Vermont.

The documentary-requirements warning
The Consulate is unusually explicit about this, and it is worth reading before you assume a checklist is complete:
- Failure to comply with or submit any listed requirement will cause delay.
- At any stage of evaluation you may be required to submit additional documents as existing laws and regulations require.
- The basis for any additional requirement shall be explained to you clearly.
- Failure to comply with those additional requirements will also cause delay.
- Improper or incomplete information on an application form causes problems.
That third point is the useful one: you are entitled to an explanation of why an extra document is being asked for.
